Jalapeño Bacon Ranch Cheese Ball

If you are looking to please a crowd you definitely should try this cheese ball. It's basically a jalapeño popper in a cheese ball.

Ingredients:

Cheese Ball

  • 2 Blocks Cream Cheese (8oz), softened
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • 2.5 Cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 Pack Ranch Seasoning Mix
  • 3 Tbs Green Onions, sliced
  • 1/4 Cup Jalapeños, diced
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt, Black Pepper, Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, each
  • 1 Tbs Red Pepper Flakes, (optional)
  • 2 Cup Crackers, Pretzels, Tortilla Chips

Bacon Crust

  • 10 Slices Bacon
  • 1 Cup Almonds, chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Green Onion, sliced

Instructions:

  • Firstly, start by placing the bacon slices on a baking tray. Make sure bacon slices are evenly spread out. Cook for about 20 minutes in a 400 degree oven. Flip the bacon half way through and cook bacon until crispy, it makes it easier to chop for the cheese ball.

  • Once bacon is cooked, allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Once bacon is not too hot use a sharp knife to chop bacon into small pieces about 1/4 inch pieces.

Cheese Ball

  • In a mixing bowl, add cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, ranch seasoning, green onion, jalapeños, and spices. Mix all these ingredients together until a cohesive mixture is formed.

  • Cut some plastic wrap pieces and place on a flat surface. Spoon the cheese into a ball shape and bring up the sides of the plastic wrap to cover the cheese ball.  Utilize the wrapping process to help shape the cheese into a ball.  Refrigerate the ball overnight or up to six days. At the minimum, chill the cheese ball for 4 hours.

Bacon Crust

  • Before serving roll the cheese ball in the bacon crust mixture. To make this in a shallow bowl or plate add the chopped bacon, almonds, green onion and

  • To serve the cheese ball, place on a large serving dish and place cheese ball in the middle. Place crackers, pretzels, chips, veggies or anything that you like.
