Sweetheart Cocktail

Celebrate your Sweetheart this Valentine’s Day with these sweetheart cocktail. I would say that these are the perfect date night drink. Essentially, this cocktail is a sangria but with notes from the lemonade, strawberries, it makes this drink all the more special. This cocktail will only take you about 5 minutes to make and if you plan on drinking more than one (hey I’m not judging) you could double or triple the recipe to make a pitcher of this light and bubbly Sweetheart Cocktail!

The Ingredients you Will Need...

  • 2 oz Pink Witney
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 Cup Strawberry Lemonade
  • 1 Cup Rosé Wine
  • 1 Can Gingerale
  • 2 Tbs Honey
  • 4 Tbs Red Sprinkles
  • 2 Toothpicks
  • 4 Medium Strawberries
  • 6 Maraschino Cherries
  • 1 Cup Ice

The Rosé Wine

For the Rosé Wine you can use whatever wine you like. Alternatively, you can use white wine if that is all you have or you prefer that. Personally some of my favourite wines are Mateus Rosé or Carlo Rossi Rosé. For this recipe I used Carlo Rossi Rosé.

Cocktail Shaker

You do not need to use a cocktail shaker to make this drink. Simply mix all the ingredients  in a glass and use a spoon to stir. If you have one they are definitely fun to use. If you are using a cocktail shaker add the ice to the shaker when mixing the sangria and then strain it out when pouring it into the glass. If you are just mixing the cocktail in a glass you may choose to add ice or not depending how you like sangria served.

Method:

Step 1:

Rim your glasses with honey and then red sprinkles.

Step 2:

Add all of the liquids to the cocktail shaker or glass and mix it up!

Step 3:

Pour the sangria into serving glasses and garnish with strawberries and cherries on toothpicks. Enjoy! 🙂
