How To Make High Protein Dill Pickle Tuna Melt

Start by opening the 2 cans of tuna and drain the excess water. Set aside for now.

Chop up the red onion, celery, pickle, parsley and dill. Add to a bowl and add the tuna in as well.

Next, add in the greek yogurt, mayo, mustard, salt and pepper, and lemon juice. Mix the ingredients all together and taste for seasoning.

In a small bowl add greek yogurt, minced dill pickle, pickle juice, fresh dill, ranch seasoning and spices. Mix well and set aside.

Butter 1 side of each slice of bread. In a panini press or skillet on medium heat, build your tuna melt. Add the buttered side f the bread to the heated surface, then add 1/4 of the tuna filling on top of the bread. Add cheese on top and a few chips. Top with the second pice of bread, butter side up. Notes + Tips for High Protein Dill Pickle Tuna Melt

  • Use your favourite bread! Personally, I really like a crusty multigrain or whole wheat bread but you can use whatever you prefer. Some bread types that would be delicious could be: sourdough, ciabatta or Italian bread.
  • Prep the tuna filling in advance. If you are into meal prepping you can prep the tuna filling and create the sandwiches quickly for an easy lunch. I wouldn’t recommend making the sandwich in advance because it will go soggy.
  • Add chips into your sandwich for some crunch. The crunchy potato chip layer is what makes this High Protein Dill Pickle Tuna Melt so special, it gives the sandwich a crunch and some extra flavour too!
