Forget everything you know about pizza and make this easy Italian Stromboli. Similar to pizza, Stromboli contain various meats, cheese but does not have the sauce inside of the roll rather to dip it. It is rolled tightly, baked then cut into slices. It makes a great easy appetizer or a meal!
Servings: 8 servings
- 700 g Pre-Made Pizza Dough
- 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour (for rolling out pizza dough)
- 5 Tbs Butter, melted (divided)
- 4 Cloves Garlic, Minced
- 2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
- 10 Slices Deli Ham
- 15 Slices Salami
- 20 Slices Pepperoni
- 1 Egg, Beaten
- 1 Cup Marinara Sauce, For Dipping
Garlic Butter
- 2 Tbs Parsley, Chopped
- 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder
- 3 Tbs Parmesan Cheese
Preheat oven for 400 degrees F.
Place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Lightly flour the parchment paper and then place dough on the baking tray.
Roll pizza dough out into a rectangle. Push the dough all the way to the edges of the baking tray making a thin and even layer with the dough.
In a bowl combine 3 tbs of butter (of the 5 tbs of butter) and minced garlic. Brush the garlic butter over the dough. Then, sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough.
Top the dough with a layer of ham, pepperoni, and salami. Add the other cup of mozzarella cheese over top.
In a small bowl, beat the egg. Use a pastry brush to brush the edges of the stromboli. This will help seal the stromboli once you roll it up.
Carefully roll up the stromboli starting from the long edge of it. Make sure to roll tightly and evenly.
Garlic Butter
Combine the rest of the butter, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, and parmsean cheese. Brush over top of the stromboli making sure to get the sides as well. Use a sharp knife to cut diagonal slits on top of the stromboli. I cut about 5 slits about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 25 minutes until you see that the dough is golden brown. Use a serrated knife to cut the stromboli into pieces. Serve with marinara sauce and enjoy! 🙂
