Garlic Parmesan Baked Chicken Tenders

Dinner in 30 minutes? Is it possible? YES! These baked chicken tenders are an easy and quick weeknight dinner. Not only are these tenders crispy and tasty but you won’t even believe that they are BAKED rather than fried. You can serve these chicken strips with garlic Parmesan over top or eat them plain. Pair these crispy tenders with your favourite side such as salad, rice, potatoes or even in a wrap!

The Ingredients You Will Need…

  • 4 Chicken Breast
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, each
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 Tbs Hot Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 2 Cups Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Tsp Salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika,
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, melted

Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 1/2 Cup Butter, melted
  • 1 Head Garlic, minced
  • 1/3 Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1/4 Cup Parsley
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Onion Powder
  • Pinch Salt
  • Pinch Coarse Black Pepper

The Side

When I made these garlic parmsean chicken strips I had mine with rice and broccoli. You can really pair these chicken strips with whatver you have on hand or whatver is your favourtie. Some side ideas that go well with chicken strips:

  • Rice
  • Fries
  • Roasted potatoes
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Broccoli
  • Garden salad
  • Ceasar salad
  • Corn
  • Coleslaw
  • Biscuits
  • Mac n cheese
  • Waffles

DIP It Real Good!

These chicken tenders call for a sultry garlic Parmesan sauce over top. However, this is completely optional. If you are not into garlic Parmesan or you just rather have plain chicken tenders  just skip the garlic Parmesan step.

Other delicious sauce ideas to add to the chicken strips or to DIP them into (instead of garlic Parmesan sauce):

  • Buffalo sauce
  • Honey garlic sauce
  • Ranch
  • Cajun spice 
  • Chipotle mayo
  • Honey Mustard
  • Your favourite hot sauce
  • BBQ sauce
  • Garlic aioli 
  • Spicy ketchup

Method

Step 1:

Season the chicken tenders and prepare the dredging mixes. 

Step 2:

Dredge each piece of chicken in the mixtures and then place on a baking tray with butter. Bake until crispy on both sides. 

Step 3:

Make the garlic Parmesan sauce and toss the chicken tenders in the the sauce. 

Step 4:

Top with parsley and enjoy! 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 4 Chicken Breast

Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • 1/2 Cup Butter, melted
  • 1 Head Garlic,* minced
  • 1/3 Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 1/4 Cup Parsley
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp Onion Powder
  • Pinch Salt
  • Pinch Coarse Black Pepper

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Start by slicing the chicken lengthwise into strips. Each chicken breast should be cut into about 3-4 strips. Season the chicken strips with the listed spices and mix well.

  • On a baking tray add the almost all of the1/2 cup of butter on the tray and spread out evenly. Save a little less than half for on top.

  • In a bowl add eggs and hot sauce and whisk well. In a separate bowl add flour, breadcrumbs and spices.
    4 Eggs, 2 Tbs Hot Sauce, 1/2 Cup Flour, 2 Cups Panko Bread Crumbs, 1 Tsp Salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika,
  • Dip each chicken tender first into the egg mixture and then the bread crumb mixture. Roll the strip around so that all the sides are coated in breadcrumbs. Shake off any access flour and then place the strips evenly on the baking tray. Continue this process with the rest of the strips. Then brush the remainder of the melted butter on top of the strips.
  • Place chicken strips in the oven and bake for 15 minutes and then flip, bake for another 10-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
  • In another bowl add melted butter, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder, mix well. Toss the chicken strips in the garlic Parmesan sauce but be careful not to break the chicken strips> Pour any remaining garlic Parmesan sauce on top of the chicken strips once each piece of chicken is coated. Sprinkle more Parmesan cheese on top if you prefer.

*If you do not want such a garlicky taste, use about 4 cloves of garlic rather than the whole head.
