20-Minute Cranberry Sauce

Tart cranberries are sweetened with spices and sugar for our cranberry sauce that is the perfect addition to your holiday meal. This cranberry sauce is made with only a few simple ingredients. It will take you 20 minutes to make and WAY better than canned cranberry sauce. This sauce is so fresh and has hints of orange, allspice and cinnamon.

Equipment

  • 1 Medium Pot

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Orange Juice
  • 1 1/2 Cups Fresh Cranberries
  • 1/2 Orange, Zested
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1/8 Tsp Ground Cloves
  • Pinch Salt

Instructions
 

  • Bring sugar, water, cinnamon stick, cloves and pinch of salt to a light boil until the sugar is melted.
    1 Cup Granulated Sugar, 1/2 Cup Water, 1 Cinnamon Stick, 1/8 Tsp Ground Cloves, Pinch Salt
  • Once the sugar is melted, add the orange juice, orange zest, and cranberries.
    1/2 Cup Orange Juice, 1 1/2 Cups Fresh Cranberries, 1/2 Orange,
  • Allow the cranberries to simmer on a light boil for about 10-15 minutes. You will see the liquid start to thicken and once you see the liquid is reduced (after about 10-15 minutes), remove from the heat and allow the sauce to cool.
  • Before placing the sauce in the fridge, cool the cranberry sauce to room temperature and as the cranberry sauce cools it will thicken and solidify.
  • You can make this cranberry sauce 3 days in advance before your holiday festivities. Enjoy! :)
