White Chocolate Cranberry Bliss Bars

If you have ever tried Starbucks Bliss Bars these are EVEN BETTER! The bars are a chewy blondie with white chocolate and dried cranberries and then topped with white chocolate orange cream frosting. These are an awesome holiday dessert and they do not take a lot of effort or time to put together.

The Frosting

I LOVE this frosting! It is a cream cheese frosting with hints o vanilla and orange. It is super creamy and makes these white chocoalte cranberry bliss bars sooo good! I would reccomend allowing the cream cheese to come to room temperature. Use a hand mixer to whip the cream cheese which will help make the frosting silky and smooth.

Baking Pan

I used a clear glass baking pyrex to make this blondie. My pan size was 12″x8.5″. Use a baking pan similar in size, such as:

  • 9″x11″
  • 12″x5″
  • 10″x9″

Use a baking dish similar in size so it can bake to about 1 inch height. You don’t want the bars too thin or too thich so use your judgement with your pan size.

Either use cooking spray or parchment paper to line the baking dish. You want the cookie bar to come out easily.

Tips & Tricks

Hand Mixer

  • Use a hand mixer if you have one to whip the cream cheese frosting. This will help the frosting be super fluffy and take away any lumps.
  • You do not have to use a hand mixer to mix the cookie dough. I just used a whisk and a large bowl. If you want to use a hand mixer or stand mixer go right ahead!

Eggs

  • I would recommend taking the eggs out and allowing them to get to room temperature.

Butter

  • Use unsalted butter for this recipe. Also, melt the butter for this recipe.

Cool the Cookie Bar

  • Once the bliss bars are cooked, allow them to completely cool to room temperature; this may take about an hour. Make sure the cookie is cool to the touch before adding the frosting to avoid the frosting melting. Personally, I like to cool my bliss bars overnight and eat them cold! I would recommend doing the same! 🙂

  • Meanwhile, use an electric mixer to whip the cream cheese. Melt 1/2 the white chocolates chips (so 1/2 cup) and add this to the cream cheese along with powdered sugar, orange zest and vanilla. Whip together until creamy and no lumps appear.
