How To Make This Recipe

Preheat your oven to 425 F degrees.

Add chicken wings to a large mixing bowl and add baking powder, seasoning salt, garlic powder. Mix well until all of the chicken wings are evenly coated.

Place parchment paper on 2 baking trays and then spray the parchment paper with cooking spray. Optionally: you could use melted butter to coat the bottom of the tray and then spread some more melted butter on top. If you do use melted butter use about 1/4 for the bottom of the tray and another 1/4 cup to brush on top.

Place the chicken wings on the baking trays and spread out evenly making sure they are not touching and have space in between each wing.

Place in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping half way through. The chicken wings are done when the temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

Toss the wings in your favourite sauce or eat them plain. (Above in this blog post I have sauce recipes for honey dijon, butter buffalo and dry cajun if you are looking for sauce ideas.) Serve warm and enjoy! 🙂

The Sauces I Used for my Crispy Baked Wings

This is completely optional but these are the sauces I used for my crispy chicken wings. For the wet sauces I added them to a mixing bowl and whisked until cohesive and then added my chicken wings into the same bowl. For my dry cajun seasoning I mixed together the spices and then dusted the seasoning on top (about 1-2 tbs). The proportions of sauces will coat about 15-20 wings deepening on how saucy you like it and how large your wings are.

Honey Dijon Sauce

Butter Buffalo

Dry Cajun

  • 1/2 Cup Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 Cup Honey
  • 1/2 Cup Melted Butter
  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1/4 Cup Melted Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Buffalo Sauce

  • Seasoning Salt to taste
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 Tsp Oregano
  • 1/2 Tsp Thyme
  • 1/2 Tsp Red Chilli Flakes (Optional)

Equipment Needed

Baking Sheets

Parchment Paper

Seasoning Salt

Notes + Tips

  • I use parchment paper + non stick spray because to avoid the chicken wings to stick to the tray and each other. The non stick spray acts like a butter or oil that helps crisp them up. Alternatively, you can use melted butter instead of non stick spray. Use 1/4 cup melted butter on the bottom of the pan and another 1/4 cup melted butter to brush the top of the chicken wings before baking.
  • This is an air fryer friendly recipe! If you have an air fryer these wings will turn out extra crispy! Place the chicken wings in the air fryer at 400 degrees F and cook 8 minutes on each side for a total of 16 minutes (or internal until the temperature reaches 165 degrees F.)
